A trattoria, not a big restaurant
We are a small family place in the middle of Utrecht. The menu changes with the seasons, the wines are all Italian, and the kitchen is open so you can watch Marco work. Come as you are.

Cooked by Marco, run by Sofia
We opened Il Melograno in 2019, a small trattoria we could look after ourselves. Marco is in the open kitchen. Sofia is out front, pouring the wine and finding you a table.
Everything is cooked to order. On a busy night it takes a moment. Pour a glass, enjoy the room, we will get there.

We wanted twenty eight seats and no more. Small enough that Sofia knows your name by the second visit, and Marco can cook every plate himself.
